Ron Macrae leads a full-time team of 50 people based in the company’s Auckland office. He began his career as a design draughtsman and quantity surveyor. He then progressed to project management with Fletcher Construction’s overseas division and established CMP Construction in 1989. Ron’s extensive experience in the construction industry has helped to shape his philosophies for the governance of CMP. He holds three principles close in all aspects of managing the business:

Andrew brings to CMP Construction over 35 years of experience in the construction industry sector after beginning his career as a quantity surveyor in the 1980s. Prior to joining CMP, Andrew excelled in commercial management of large-scale projects with Hawkins Construction and Mainzeal Construction. He also directed his own company, Vision Interiors, which was recognised in the Deloitte’s Fast 50 awards in 2007 and 2011. It's Andrew's responsibility to ensure that CMP Construction has robust contracts and that solid relationships are nurtured and maintained with CMP’s consultants, developers, banks, staff, sub-contractors and suppliers. He is the driving force behind CMP projects achieving a successful completion.
Tony has been with CMP from 2003, and offers 40+ years' experience working in diverse areas of the construction industry. He spent many years working overseas, which gave him the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and experience not readily available in New Zealand, from hydro-electric tunnel constructions in Papua New Guinea, to historic building restoration in London. In New Zealand he has completed contracts in all areas of commercial and residential construction, including multi-storey apartments, multi-million dollar homes and leaky building remediation. He received a NZ Institute of Building Excellence in the building professions award in the $10-$25 million category in 2014 and was also a finalist in these awards for his management of the refurbishment of Victoria Park Market, Auckland.
Dominic has more than 11 years of business and contracts management experience delivering construction projects in New Zealand, Australia, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. He has a Masters of Construction (Construction Law) along with Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Commercial Law and Industrial Relations.
Areas of specialty include contracts administration, contract status reporting, payment claims preparation and project forecasting with a focus on delivery to budget and timeframes.
He has strength in construction programme preparation and analysis. Dominic uses his considerable experience in contractual management and logistics to optimise delivery schedules and commercial outcomes for CMP’s clients.
Dominic has also been instrumental in driving the process for CMP to accreditation for its quality assurance, health and safety and environmental management systems.
James has a strong background in large scale projects including very complex apartment builds. He has worked in the construction industry for more than 15 years with the past three years as a project manager for CMP. James has an Honours degree in Engineering.
Extremely adept at value engineering, James works through every aspect of a project and finding opportunities for increasing buildability, cost effectiveness and accelerated programming, without sacrificing quality: improved cost effectiveness through solutions such as prefabrication, material substitution, and alternative methodologies. His technical design and construction experience is complemented by his strong commercial and contractual application and collaborative working style.
James is recognised by the industry for his superior capability in leadership and management and can draw the right people together to find the best options for cost effectiveness and buildability. Testament to his capability was his winning an Excellence Award in the Over $25m category at the 2020 NZIOB Building Awards for the Life Apartments.
Mike is CMP’s most experienced employee with 50 years’ experience in the construction industry, having worked throughout New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. He has astute commercial expertise coupled with hands on experience working in challenging environments in senior management roles. He has built long lasting and valuable professional relationships throughout the industry including clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers who appreciate his direct, hands on approach.
Prior to joining CMP, Mike has headed up multiple divisions in Fletcher Construction (including the international division), along with other major contractors including Dominion Constructors and Argon Construction. Mike is a qualified Quantity Surveyor.
Mike was initially brought into CMP to act as a mentor and advisor during a period of strong growth in the company. He provided advice on governance, risk management and construction and then came on board. His contribution is central to CMP’s success today.
Mike’s significant experience in residential and commercial construction in challenging environments helps ensure successful delivery for clients, whatever the challenge.
